Love and devotion poetry readings by Helen Morse transcript
Hello, this is Helen Morse – reading excerpts from the romantic stories and lyrical verse written by some of the great Persian poets of the past. There are lines too from European poets who sometimes used names, expressions and symbolism very similar to their Persian counterparts. These Persian stories and some European works with similar themes are told in the beautiful manuscripts and books selected for the State Library of Victoria exhibition Love and devotion: from Persia and beyond.
Enjoy the poetry – and Rachel Atkinson's cello music.
