Your State Library, your sayKaldor Project draws crowds
We consider ourselves pretty lucky that Kaldor Public Art Project #26 is taking place right under our noses. From our desks we hear the beautiful sounds of Ode to joy every hour. And we regularly wander into the Cowen Gallery to marvel at the pianist playing the prepared piano from inside.
The size of the audiences has been impressive, too. People of all ages are coming in to see what all the fuss is about. The Cowen Gallery is packed – every hour, on the hour! And it's the first time we've seen kids dancing there.
Kaldor Public Art Projects has released a short video documentary about the piece, including interviews with John Kaldor and head pianist Stefan Cassomanos. You can also browse articles in The Age and Financial Review. But best of all – if you have the option – is to visit the Library in person to see this singular performance.
